Many factors contribute to heart attacks, to name a few, a person’s lifestyle, age, and family history.
Other risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking.
All of these causes can always be eliminated by taking steps to reduce the risk by changing the factors that can lead to their occurrence
There are ways to help avoid a fatal heart attack, reviewed by Dr. Bayou Carrie-Winchell, MD, urgent care medical director and physician at St. Mary’s Hospital, on Eat This Not That.
1- Annual check-ups
“Having an annual heart health check-up is very important,” says Dr. Winchel, “it gives the doctor the opportunity to listen to the heart (and potentially identify abnormal sounds such as a murmur or irregular rhythm), and discuss the personal and family health risks of having a heart attack.”
2- Daily physical activity
“Like my dad always says, keep moving, because that’s the word,” says Dr. Winchell. “Exercise, even just a short walk every day, will help the heart stay healthy.”
3- rainbow meals
“A diet of heart-healthy foods like fruits and vegetables (various colors are best), rich in fiber, clean proteins, and whole grains goes a long way in maintaining good heart health,” adds Dr. Winchell.
4- Don’t ignore the symptoms
Dr. Winchel warns once morest ignoring “any suffering from pain or discomfort in the chest, neck, jaw, or back, or if the person has difficulty breathing, nausea or vomiting, or if they notice any new symptoms such as fatigue or dizziness,” saying that everyone ” He knows his body better, so if he thinks something is wrong, he should immediately go to the hospital for a medical examination.”
