The Gulf and the World – Biden in Saudi Arabia.. Oil drums obscure the issue of…

After a rupture and high ceilings between Washington and Riyadh since the end of the era of former US President Donald Trump, and following an escalation and attack on Saudi Arabia, and vowed to break out once morest the House of Saud, US President Joe Biden was forced to return to the arms of the “milk cow”, forgetting the issue of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. And trying to gain the production of more Gulf oil barrels, perhaps it will help him in the Ukrainian quagmire, and his visit will be a direct sponsor of normalization between Saudi Arabia and “Israel”.

Biden, who began his visit to the region by offering obedience duties in “Tel Aviv”, arrived today in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. In a sign that has its own indications, the King of Saudi Arabia or its Crown Prince did not receive him at the airport, and then moved on to hold meetings with King Salman and his son.

The US President met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, upon his arrival in Jeddah, today, Friday, at the beginning of a “pivotal” visit to discuss energy issues, politics and relations between the Gulf and Washington, in a way that constitutes a retraction from his pledge during his election campaign to transform the Kingdom into A pariah state.

Official Saudi media published pictures of the US presidential plane at Jeddah airport, following a two-hour flight from Ben Gurion Airport, as no US president had ever flown directly from the occupied Palestinian territories to Saudi Arabia. Biden was received by the governor of Mecca, Khaled Al-Faisal, and the Saudi ambassador to the United States, Rima bint Bandar.

Bin Salman received Biden at the Peace Palace in Jeddah, while video clips broadcast by official media showed Bin Salman welcoming Biden at one of the entrances to the royal palace, in the western coastal city.

While in the coastal city, Biden met Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, before participating in a ministerial “working session” headed by bin Salman.

Biden will also participate on Saturday in a summit gathering the leaders of the Gulf states, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.

Biden: We will not leave a vacuum in the Middle East for Russia and China

In his first statement from Saudi Arabia, the US President announced that a reciprocal airline will be opened between “Israel” and Saudi Arabia, and that he discussed the importance of freedom of navigation for all, including “Israel”.

He said, “I had important discussions with King Salman and the Crown Prince, and we agreed on partnerships with Saudi Arabia regarding 5G technology,” noting that he discussed “with the Saudi leadership the energy security file, and we discussed strengthening our position in the coming decades and investing in fifth generation technology in coordination with partners.”

The US president spoke of conducting a good series of meetings and discussing the defense needs of Saudi Arabia, declaring that he will work to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s security in the face of any threats, claiming that Saudi Arabia contributed to “installing and supporting the armistice” in Yemen, and that the Saudi authorities agreed to extend the armistice in Yemen.

Biden stressed that his country will not leave a vacuum in the Middle East for Russia and China, and that Washington is doing everything it can to increase oil supplies to America, and he also discussed with Saudi officials the issue of energy and the need to supply markets with what they need, expecting practical steps from Riyadh.

Biden announced that Saudi Arabia “will participate with us in the Clean Energy Initiative, and the Saudi Crown Prince has already taken measures once morest those responsible for the Khashoggi murder,” according to his claim.

Biden referred to the termination of the agreement to link the Iraqi electricity network to the network of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries through Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
