Complete digital signage concept at Orlando International Airport: The new one opens in September Terminal C with 15 gates. In the future, passengers will be accompanied by information screens from ticketing to the boarding gates. A total of around 874 displays in various formats and shapes are networked via Synect’s digital signage platform Passenger360, which processes and automatically displays flight data in real time.
The screens should fit seamlessly into MCO’s design concept. Large video walls, smaller displays and LED strips are distributed throughout the terminal. Synect developed the branded content for the Passenger360 system in cooperation with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA). The platform is said to be able to process thousands of changes per second, including flight or weather changes. The content strategy also includes live action video from Orlando and the Central Florida region, animations, signposts and seasonal festivals. Travel information is accompanied by videos to make the content visually appealing and entertaining.
Synect CEO Yahav Ran says: “Modern travelers live in a smartphone-enabled, ultra-high definition world that is shaping their expectations for visual communication. Orlando International Airport exceeds those expectations by supporting their journey with a smartphone-like approach on giant digital canvases powered by Passenger360.”
The program in Terminal C is linked to the visual communication system in the North Terminal. All content and processes are managed centrally via the Synect platform. Passenger360 is integrated with MCO’s Airport Operations Center (AOC). Thus, it enables the automatic updating of digital news and content.
