A woman may have been threatened with a knife at her home in Vairano TI, part of Gambarogno Municipality, on Thursday morning. Tio.ch writes of a “pointed object”. The woman is the former Federal Councilor Doris Leuthard, writes the online portal with reference to well-informed sources. Leuthard is now a member of the Board of Directors at Coop and Stadler Rail.
A man is said to have threatened the former transport minister following a dispute. No information is available regarding the man. However, it is a case of domestic violence, writes Tio.ch. According to the article, the ex-magistrate called for help, neighbors testify. Alerted cantonal police intervened on site. “There were two police cars and an ambulance on site,” reports a neighbor who might not drive through the narrow alley.
The Ticino public prosecutor’s office confirms that they went out on Thursday due to an emergency call received shortly before 10:30 a.m. The cantonal police were supported by the intermunicipal district police, and the operation in a property in Vairano ended around noon.
