The former Federal Councilor was threatened on Thursday morning in her vacation home in Vairano, Ticino. According to the site “tio.ch”, Doris Leuthard was threatened with a “sharp object” following an argument, without giving more details.

The cantonal police do not give any information on the identity of the man or the threatened woman. According to “tio.ch”, the ex-politician would have called for help, as evidenced by neighbors. The police then intervened. The author was arrested and then transferred to the psychiatric hospital of Mendrisio (TI).

Former transport minister Doris Leuthard is now a board member of Coop, Stadler Rail and Transgourmet Holding.
