Ivana Trump, first wife of Donald Trump, dies at 73

Ivana Trump, the first wife of Donald Trump, has died in New York City at the age of 73, the former president reported Thursday on social media.

“I am deeply saddened to inform all who loved her, which is many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “She was a wonderful, beautiful, amazing woman who led a great and inspiring life. Her pride and joy were her three children: Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric. She was very proud of them, as all of us were proud of her. Rest in peace Ivana.”

The Trump family also released a statement. “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman: a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and a loving mother and friend.”

The couple divorced in 1992. They had three children together: Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.

“Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled communism and embraced this country. She taught her children regarding courage and resilience, compassion and determination,” the Trump family said. She grew up under the communist regime in the former Czechoslovakia.

Neither the Trump family statement nor the message from the former president mentions the cause of his death.

According to TMZ, the former model went into cardiac arrest shortly following lunchtime. The outlet reported that someone at her home made a call to the NYPD following 12:30 p.m.
