What initially sounds like a normal accident report turns out to be a thriller: On Tuesday night a Ferrari FF (660 hp!) came off the road in Mauthausen, Austria, and crashed into a power distributor. The 280,000 franc luxury sled is then ready for the scrap yard.
The crash apparently happened during an overtaking maneuver. The Ferrari had just overtaken another car when the horsepower monster went off the road. Other drivers stopped and immediately called the police and paramedics. Only: When the emergency services arrived, they found the Ferrari completely destroyed, but there was no trace of the driver.
A search began, finally it was feared that the driver was injured in the accident. “We had the assumption that the driver was in shock and ran away. We immediately started a search, but this was unsuccessful,” says Roland Krankl from the Mauthausen fire brigade.today».
Ferrari owner came to the scene of the accident with another car
However, the emergency services might not find the driver. Curious: Suddenly the owner of the sports car drove up with another car – and drunk. He told police he wasn’t driving himself but knew who was driving. At the same time, the police also targeted him. He had to take an alcohol test. Result: positive!
And so the Ferrari owner had to hand in the key for the other car – along with his driver’s license. Nevertheless, he apparently asked the actual Ferrari crasher to turn himself in to the police.
And indeed: Shortly therefollowing, a man reported to the police and said that he had crashed the luxury sled. He was also given an alcohol test. Result: negative. (oco)
