Two years after its hiatus, Criminal Minds is reborn with a big chunk of the cast, but a new concept

This is one of the most striking effects of the fictional gluttony of streaming platforms, lacking ideas to feed the catalog and attract ever more subscribers: to make something new with something old. Remakes, reboots, prequels or sequels to everything that was once successful abound in projects.

On the side of Paramount +, we are doing even stronger, with the resurrection of a series stopped two years ago, Criminal minds. The creator of the saga, Erica Messer, will be there, as will most of the team members: Kirsten Vangsness (Penelope Garcia), AJ Cook (Jennifer Jareau), Aisha Tyler (Tara Lewis) Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss) , Joe Mantegna (David Rossi) and Adam Rodriguez (Luke Alvez). Compared to the fifteenth season, only two major absences are to be deplored: those of Matthew Gray Gubler (the little genius Spencer Reed, present from the start) and Daniel Henney (Matthew Simmons, in action for three years).

More importantly: the very principle ofCriminal minds will change. Finished for the profilers to hunt down a serial killer per episode. From now on, each season will be devoted to a single case, divided into several episodes.

No release date has been set, but filming should begin soon.
