a 14-year-old boy died following an accident aboard a
roller coaster
. As revealed by the authorities of that country, the car in which the minor came broke down and derailed. Another 13-year-old minor was injured.
“A 14-year-old girl from Copenhagen has died following a tragic accident at the Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus,” Danish police said in a statement.
The accident occurred when a car became detached from the roller coaster called ‘Cobra’Henrik Ragborg Olsen, director of the theme park, told local media.
“It was the rear part that broke off and was left hanging under the rest of the train,” he told Danish broadcaster TV2.
The amusement park was closed and visitors were evacuated. It was learned that this is not the first time that an incident of this magnitude has occurred on that roller coaster. In 2008, a railcar also derailed.
Danish authorities are investigating the causes of the accident. Meanwhile, the amusement center was closed until further notice.
