Sometimes there is an unexplained rise in blood sugar levels despite the precautions one takes.

There are some bad eating habits that we do that can negatively affect our blood sugar, according to the websites “timesofindia” and “tasteofhome”.

Eat only carbohydrates in the meal:

It is necessary to combine carbohydrates with some other nutrients such as protein, fiber and fats.

Eating only carbohydrates will release sugar into the bloodstream and there will be no excess of nutrients.

However, when it’s combined with protein and fiber with fat, it slows down the release of sugar into the bloodstream as the body takes time to digest these nutrients.

Eat less fiber:

Consuming less fiber than the recommended daily limit increases blood sugar levels in the body.

Consumption of hidden sugar:

There are many foods that hide sugar in them from fruits to vegetables and even cereals, fruit juices, bread and low-fat yogurt, which negatively affects the body and causes high blood sugar levels.

Eating a lot of the wrong fats:

Research suggests that eating excessive fat worsens insulin resistance, so stay away from meals that contain large amounts of saturated fat, such as fast food.

Too much protein:

Excessive protein intake can affect blood glucose levels, especially if this protein is in your red meat meal, as increased red meat consumption has been linked to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes.

Overeating:

The extra weight gain from overeating can contribute to increased insulin resistance, and therefore higher blood sugar.
