Gisela founded Amarige Spa
In the year 1996, Gisela Valcarcel founded his first local Amarige Spa. The idea of investing in the beauty industry came regarding thanks to her friend Adriana, who was Ethel Pozo’s godmother.
In one of her game shows on América Televisión, the presenter revealed how she started the entire journey of her own business.
“(Adriana) told me: ‘You have to start a business’; and I said to him: ‘How’s that for a business?’ And she said to me: ‘Oh, stop thanking everyone for the hairstyles. I go, look for a house and we put a living room’”said the presenter while hugging her friend.

Why did they close Amarige Spa?
Gisela Valcárcel enjoyed resounding success with Amarige Spa for several years. She came to open several stores around Lima.
Business was prosperous. One of those in charge of the franchise was his only daughter Ethel Pozo, who took over the company in 2004.
However, just years later, in 2009, it became known that the popular ‘Señito’ had to close its last location due to a municipal provision in the midst of a major scandal with the owner of the venue.
Ethel Pozo reveals that Gisela did not attend her school events
In an interview with the journalist Verónica Linares, the presenter Ethel Pozo was moved to reveal that her mother Gisela Valcárcel might not attend her performances at school because she was very busy with her work on TV.
“My mom had to support a whole family. (…) I took everything as a joke, I told myself ‘Ethel, I can pay the APAFA a fine for not coming to the meetings’, because I never went. She never was. My aunt Martha was in the performances and they made a good pair, my mother and my aunt, ”he revealed.
