“Welcome to Aichhalden”: Since Wednesday, 14 wrestlers and supervisors from the US state of Montana have been visiting the community as part of a youth exchange.
Aichhalden – The “Montana Wrestlers” last traveled from the north of the USA to the source of the Neckar in 2018. In addition to a comparison fight, the guests will also have time to explore the Black Forest.
At the reception on the lawn in front of the town hall, Mayor Michael Lehrer brought the guests closer to the history of Aichhalden and Rötenberg and reported on two branches of the local Simon Group in the USA. The Black Forest has a lot to offer in terms of tourism and he hopes that they will visit some of the sights in the next few days off. The mayor emphasized that he might also recommend Swabian cuisine.
Friendship comes first
Such an exchange between young athletes is the best way to socialize and make friends. Everyone would have the same hobby with wrestling and the will to win. “First and foremost, however, is friendship,” emphasized teacher. Only in personal contact can one learn from one another, accept and respect others and understand other cultures. This opportunity should be seized.
From amusement park to terrace building museum
The mayor thanked the organizers of both municipalities who were committed to such a meeting. With the wishes for “a wonderful time in Aichhalden” teachers asked for an entry in the red book of the community. Athletes’ Association chairman Eduard Janesch welcomed the American wrestlers, but warned mischievously: There are no grizzly bears in the Black Forest like there are in the Rocky Mountains. But other dangers lurked, such as excessive consumption of Asbach-Cola. “Think of the comparison fight on Friday,” said the ABA chairman to the US wrestlers in English and looked at grinning faces. The US wrestlers are accommodated with host families from AB Aichhalden. The club has a colorful program for you in the remaining days until you travel to TSV Ehningen in the middle of next week, with a visit to the Vogtsbauernhöfe in Gutach, Karrennbahn in Rottweil, Europapark in Rust, Terrassenbau-Museum in Schramberg and cycling and climbing on the Falkenstein set the legs.
Info: The fight
The wrestling match will take place in the athletes’ hall this Friday, July 15, and will begin at 6 p.m. The AB Aichhalden is supported by guest wrestlers from KSV Winzeln, AV Hardt, KSV Tennenbronn and KSV Hofstetten. Most of the mat duels are held in free style. Afterwards there will be an “After Fight Party” with DJ 27.
