Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ Launch of the French version of the documentary film Conquering Cancer

Abidjan, 14 Jul 2022 (AIP)- The launch of the French version of the documentary film “Conquering cancer” was held on Tuesday 12 July 2022 in Abidjan as part of the regional dialogue on female cancers, a workshop which brought together a sixty participants from 12 French-speaking African countries.

According to the representative of the French ambassador in Côte d’Ivoire, Laurent Bonneau, this documentary film, at the heart of this campaign, goes to meet women from all walks of life, particularly in Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso. , as well as experts and healthcare providers, to paint a picture of the impact of cervical cancer.

It is also regarding finding solutions that can lead to its elimination. A message of hope for women around the world, an achievable goal in all countries, he added, indicating that France’s contribution to Unitaid, sponsor of the Sucess project which carries the documentary film project, is 60%.

This contribution has thus made it possible to facilitate the availability of health products that are better suited to treat, diagnose and prevent HIV AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, but also all their co-infections and hepatitis C and the human papillomavirus or human papillomavirus.

Funded over three years by Unitaid to the tune of 22 million euros, the Sucess project, which aims to prevent cervical cancer through screening with HPV testing and the treatment of precancerous lesions, is implemented in four countries namely Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Guatemala and the Philippines.
