Ricardo Gareca would have terminated the talks with the Peruvian Football Federation without giving a positive answer. The ‘Tiger’ did not take well the offer presented by the organism for its renewal with the selectionassured from Argentina.
Manuel Olivari, a journalist from DirecTV Sports, provided details of what would have been the Argentine coach’s reaction to the FPF proposal.
“He was offered a 40% reduction in his salary and reductions in his CT (technical command), offer not even considered”, he indicated through Twitter.

“Peru will make a proposal, which I consider very interesting, to Ricardo. We are sure that he will be able to evaluate it”, the president of the Peruvian Football Federation, Agustín Lozano, had advanced before his trip to Buenos Aires to personally deliver a new contract offer to Gareca.
Gareca assured on his departure from Peru that the bicolor is his “priority”, commenting on the versions of an alleged interest from Boca Juniors.
The Argentine is well loved in Peru, despite not having qualified for Qatar, because he took the “Blanquirroja” to Russia 2018 following an absence of 36 years in World Cups.
In the recent Qualifiers Peru was fifth, but was later eliminated by Australia in an intercontinental playoff. In seven years, the “Tiger” directed 96 matches with Peru: he obtained 40 wins, 21 draws and 35 losses.
