A military operation to recapture the prime minister’s office in Sri Lanka has failed. The army started a night operation to clear the protesters inside the office, but they retreated as more protesters arrived. Protesters are still in the Prime Minister’s office. The state of emergency and curfew continues in the country. The agitation is expected to spread to more government offices. A young man who was injured in the firing of tear gas by the security forces once morest the protestors who invaded the Prime Minister’s office yesterday died in the hospital. Exiled President Gotabaya Rajapaksa flew to Singapore from Maldives. The reason is that the Maldive opposition parties have come out with a strike. He is accompanied by a 13-member team in a special Air Force flight.
