7th wave of COVID-19 in Quebec: Public Health will provide an update on Thursday

Public Health will provide an update on the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in Quebec on Thursday at 2 p.m.

She is the senior strategic medical advisor of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), the Dre Marie-France Raynault, who will hold this press briefing.

Quebec recorded a sharp increase in hospitalizations on Wednesday with 104 more patients in its hospitals.

In all, 1,797 Quebecers positive for COVID-19 are hospitalized, including 48 in intensive care.

Eleven additional people have died from the virus, for a total of 15,708 Quebecers since the start of the pandemic.

Quebec’s national director of public health, Dr.r Luc Boileau, had confirmed, during his last press briefing on Thursday, that he considered that the province was well and truly in 7e vague.

The Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, had meanwhile affirmed that the situation was “under control for the moment”, but he had invited Quebecers to “remain very vigilant”.
