Media reports stated that Qatar Sports Investments Company is considering buying the Espanyol Barcelona team, and that it made a first offer to the “Rasta” group, the owner of the Spanish club.

Qatar is looking to buy a new club to add to the French club Paris Saint-Germain, and its first attempts to buy the Portuguese club Sporting Braga, whose president refused to sell his club to the Qatari group, failed.

According to the newspaper “Marca”, Qatar Sports Investments made an offer to the Chinese owners of the Espanyol Barcelona team to buy the club, and it is facing competition from a group from the United States of America.

Espanyol Barcelona is considered the second team in Barcelona, the Catalan capital, and its bad relationship with its most powerful and famous neighbor Barcelona, and also the bad relationship between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, which indicates a strong conflict in the future if the idea of the Qataris succeeds in buying the Spanish club.

Qatar Sports Investments Company wants to imitate the Emirati City Group, which owns several clubs around the world, the most famous of which is Manchester City, and recently added to its group the Qatari team Palermo.
