Raymundo Collins, a fugitive from justice, is captured in the US

The former secretary of Public Security of Mexico City and former director of the Housing Institute (INVI), Raymundo Collinsa fugitive since 2020, was captured by MILLENNIUM in streets of Washington, United States.

When asked regarding how the process once morest him is going, he refused to speak and entered a hotel in the US capital.

“How’s the matter going, Raymundo?” he was asked.

-“Don’t record me”, he replied

The former official has an arrest warrant issued by a judge for the crime of illegal use of powers and facultiesof which the Attorney General of Justice of Mexico City accuses him.

It was in 2020 when a judge in Mexico City ordered his arrest. The events imputed to him by the capital prosecutor’s office occurred during his management at the head of INVI, such as the alleged improper purchase of a property.

Sources from the Mexico City prosecutor’s office confirmed to MILLENNIUM that there is a red file once morest the former official to locate him in the countries where Interpol has a presence.

After MILLENNIUM captured the former capital official, he was intercepted by the media outside the Mexican Cultural Institute, where he walked spontaneously.

At the site, located a few kilometers from the hotel where he is staying, he was questioned regarding his process, saying that “that would have to be asked in Mexico.” Of his stay in Washington, he assured that “he works near here”, without specifying what or where.

Collins denied that his presence in this place was due to the visit of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to the United States or any official of the federal government, despite having gone right to the surroundings of the site where hours before the breakfast with businessmen from both countries. “I’m not going to tell them anything,” Collins reiterated to the press.
