Surprise ! The expected Bayonetta 3 just got a release date, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
No, it’s not just l’adorable Kirby in Nintendo’s busy schedule. Without warning, the firm has just announced via a long trailer that Bayonetta 3 would arrive on Nintendo Switch next October 28. Exclusive to Big N’s portable console, unlike previous opuses which had arrived on many media, the game should therefore occupy many fans on Halloween. For the record, the precedents date from 2009 and 2014. This sequel was therefore eagerly awaited and requested for many years.
A badass new character joins the party
Still developed by Platinum Games and worn by the eponymous badass heroine, Bayonetta 3 will, however, feature a new playable character. The latter, baptized Viola, will be accompanied by a feline companion and a sword.
The plot of this spirited action game will take place in particular in Tokyo and China, while a new ability to channel demons linked to Bayonetta’s weapons will be part of the game. A probably useful addition for new large-scale battles.
Famous characters like Jeanne, Rodin, Enzo and Luka will be back in the script, while the famous witch of the Umbra will have to bring out her weapons and powers to face the homunculi, mysterious biological weapons created by humans.
A collector’s edition for Bayonetta 3
Already available for pre-order on the eShop at 59.99 euros, Bayonetta 3 will also offer a special physical edition dubbed Trinity Masquerade. In addition to three cases in the image of the 3 opuses which combine to create an artwork, there will be above all a 200-page color artbook. A favorite item for fans.
In addition, on September 30, the first Bayonetta will be released in physical format on Nintendo Switch. Until now, to have it in cartridge, it was necessary to have got hold of the Japanese collector’s edition of Bayonetta 2. Hopefully the wait will be worth it for the fans, and that Bayonetta 3 may later be ported to other consoles and PC.
