An American wrestler “distributing meat” on Eid al-Adha .. the truth of the picture

Coinciding with the celebration of Eid al-Adha in various Islamic countries, pictures spread on social media that their publishers claimed were taken on Sunday during the Eid al-Adha prayer in Morocco.

However, the claim is not true, and the photos were taken during the past years.

In the photos, large crowds of worshipers can be seen, and the flag of Morocco can be seen flying in some of them.

The accompanying comment read, “Eid prayer in Morocco.”

Pictures circulating on the Internet

The publications garnered thousands of shares and comments on social networking sites from Facebook and Twitter.

However, the photos are old, according to what was published by “AFP”.

A search through search engines revealed that the first photo was published on the account of Asoud Abdel Aziz on Facebook on August 12, 2019. The account holder identifies himself as a Moroccan photojournalist.

As for the third picture, it was published by news websites on the second of last May as being from the Eid al-Fitr prayer.
