Twitter Inc sued Elon Musk on Tuesday for violating the $44 billion deal to buy the social network, and asked a Delaware court to order the world’s richest person to complete the merger at the agreed $54.20 per Twitter share, according to a court filing.
“Having put on a public show to put Twitter on the line, and having proposed and then signed a vendor-friendly merger agreement, Musk apparently believes that he – unlike any other party subject to Delaware contract law – is free to change your mind, wreck the company, disrupt its operationsdestroy shareholder value and walk away,” the lawsuit specifies.
Musk announced on Friday that he had terminated the agreement because Twitter had violated it by not responding to requests for information regarding fake or fake accounts. spam across the platforms, which is critical to your business performance.
For his part, Elon Musk responded with a meme to Twitter’s demand.
The billionaire showed himself laughing with the following phrases: “They said I mightn’t buy Twitter. They then said they would not reveal information regarding bots. Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to reveal information regarding bots in the court“.
