The Third Civil, Commercial and Traffic Court of First Instance ordered that Laidy Gómez be deprived of her main home, following the former governor was sued by moral damage by Freddy Bernal.

“Lawyer Maurima Molina Colmenares, provisional judge of Táchira, ratifies in ‘sentence’ a judicial measure on my assets, depriving me of my main home,” Gómez said on his Twitter account.

In one of the provisions of the sentence, partially posted by the former governor, it reads: “The precautionary measures named for the prohibition of alienating and encumbering, decreed by this court on May 20, 2022, on the aforementioned assets are maintained.”

Last month Bernal, current governor of Táchira, sued Gómez for moral damages. As compensation, the pro-government leader requested 12 million dollars.

According to the summons, which was published on a poster in a print media outlet in the region dated May 20, Gómez had to appear before the court within a period of no more than 15 continuous days.

Later, on her Twitter account, the former governor said that the reason for the lawsuit is that Bernal is caused “moral damage” by being called a smuggler. “They dictate a judicial measure on my only material heritage. Venezuela is not stupid, everyone knows the intentions of this ‘demand’, expressed the adeca policy.

He added: “My goods are a snack for you, Freddy Bernal, but they are the roof of my only daughter, who is barely 3 years old. You messed with my main home, which is unattachable “according to Venezuelan law.” That is the justice of your courts.”
