Covid-19: 587 new cases, more than 6.58 million people received three doses of the vaccine

Rabat – A total of 587 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 2,613 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Tuesday, which reports of 03 new deaths.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the ministry also specified that the number of first-timers reached 24,862,604, that of people who received two doses amounted to 23,349,581, while 6,583,557 people received had three injections of the vaccine and 5,949 other four doses.

The new infection toll brings the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco on March 02, 2020 to 1,242,828, while the number of recovered people has increased to 1,209,366, i.e. a recovery rate of 97, 3%.

The new cases of infection were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (146), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (129), Oriental (76), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (58), Fès-Meknes ( 50), Marrakech-Safi (41), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (32), Draâ-Tafilalet (21), Souss-Massa (20), Guelmim-Oued Noun (08) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (06).

The total number of deaths rose to 16,160 (lethality 1.3%), with 03 cases recorded in 24 hours in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (02) and Béni Mellal-Khénifra (01).

Active cases number 17,302, while severe or critical cases have reached 17 in the last 24 hours, bringing their total to 147. As for the occupancy rate of intensive care beds, it stands at 2.8%.
