In an interview with “A Spor”, the new signing of the “Schwarzen Adler”, Jackson Muleka, explained why he had a successful season at Kasimpasa and why he chose Besiktas Has decided.
From Kinshasa via Liege to Istanbul
The centre-forward, who is currently preparing for the coming season at the training camp in Austria, has the following to say regarding his time at Kasimpasa: “From the first day of my arrival at Kasimpasa I felt the full trust of the club. This has had a correspondingly positive effect on my personal performance. In addition, I am a believer and I know that the power I received came from God. That was the only way I was able to finish a successful season for myself personally.” Before arriving in Europe, the 1.80 meter tall striker grew up in Kinshasa: “I was born and raised in Kinshasa with my other eight siblings. I have four sisters and four brothers. Like every child in Africa, I also learned to play football on the street. One day I was transferred to one of the big clubs in Congo, TP Mazembe, and spent three successful years there. Eventually, some European teams became aware of the successes, so that the transfer to Standard Liege took place.”
Besiktas has an outstanding history
The Congolese might have switched to the club on the Bosphorus beforehand. Muleka explained this as follows: “I had signed with Standard Liege long before I found out regarding Besiktas’ interest. It was only much later that I found out regarding the interest of the Turkish club, the idea in the Super League to play, but I never lost. That’s why I’ve now decided to move to Besiktas within the Süper Lig, even though I’ve been courted by other European clubs. It’s a really big club with an outstanding history and when this club knocks on your door, you don’t have to think twice. For me, this transfer is a big step in my footballing career. Accordingly, I have to perform very well so that the coach can also count on me.”
