The search has been interrupted in connection with the worrying disappearance of a police officer in Rebecq, the prosecutor of the King of Walloon Brabant announced on Monday evening.
Frédéric Gonzalez Moradiellos left, on Tuesday July 5 around 10:00 a.m., his home located along rue du Petit-Bruxelles, in Rebecq. He has not since shown himself.
Assigned to Ixelles, the 35-year-old policeman is a member of staff in the Brussels-Capital area. He had recently moved to Walloon Brabant and therefore kept many ties to Brussels.

Significant research and many other investigative tasks were carried out, for almost a week, in Walloon Brabant and in the Brussels region, to try to find the missing person.
Among other operations, around forty Civil Protection agents and around twenty police officers searched the wood located near the Quenast cemetery. A federal police helicopter and a drone were also deployed.
The missing persons cell of the federal police was seized last Thursday and a beating was once more organized on Sunday in the entity of Rebecq.

“The survey of family and relatives was carried out, a helicopter and dogs were deployed, telephone and banking operations took place, field searches were carried out“, specifies the Walloon Brabant prosecutor, confirming the cessation of operations.
However, the case is not closed. “Any report or any new element can intervene. Controls will still be carried out at specific times, but it is no longer planned, at this stage, to organize new drives, for example.“, concludes the magistrate.
As for the circumstances of the disappearance, the prosecution places them in a private context, without further details.
