This time, we will review a keyboard case that can be attached to the iPad mini 6 and used like a laptop computer. A convenient item for entering text while doing research on the iPad mini.
Similar products for the iPad mini 6 are gradually coming out, and this is the second model following the previous product reviewed in ↓.
This time, I bought a keyboard case that can use the latest iPad mini 6th generation like a 2-in-1 UMPC (ultra-small laptop), so I will review it …
Introducing which one was better than the one reviewed above.
In conclusion, although there are some drawbacks, I personally prefer this one. The reason is lightness.
This review product is sold at Amazon’s ↓ page for 3,999 yen including tax. It is currently on sale for 3,599 yen, which is 10% off. It’s a little cheaper than the previous review product by 1,000 yen.
Let’s take a look.
Appearance check
Included items are the keyboard case itself, a USB cable for charging, and a manual.
Battery capacity is 160mAh, standby 90 days, continuous use 100 hours, Bluetooth connection.
When the iPad mini is attached, it looks like a laptop computer as shown below. The previous review product was a 2-in-1 type with a removable display, but this review product is a fixed display.
The top plate side is thin plastic. It is a very ordinary black plastic with no decoration. The last review product was thick, so it is ○ that it is so thin. However, since the force to snap it in is weak, the corners may come off due to a sudden trigger.
The sides are covered including the volume button except for fingerprint authentication and power button.
The worst thing is that charging is microUSB. It’s not like charging every day, but I want you to forgive me for microUSB these days.
The bottom is also a simple plastic. There are 4 rubber legs.
The maximum opening angle is as ↓. I do not feel any inconvenience in actual use.
The weight of the case alone is 281g.
It weighs 597g with the iPad mini. By the way, you can attach an Apple Pencil to the top when opened. It’s not covered, so it’s the same as wearing, charging, and pairing naked.
The last review product was over 700g and heavier, so 597g feels a lot lighter than that.
Keyboard usability
The keyboard has an irregular alphabetical arrangement like ↓.
The arrangement is almost the same as the previous review product. It is difficult to use when the parentheses and ~ are pressed at the same time as Fn, but other than that, there is no particular dissatisfaction including the feeling of keystrokes.
The key pitch is 15mm, which is cramped, but touch typing is also possible.
Lightness is good, but it is a pity that it is microUSB
Compared to the previous ↓ review product, the good point is that it is light, and the bad point is that charging is microUSB. The display is not removable, but the iPad mini can be easily attached and detached, so even if you use it, you don’t have to worry regarding it.
This time, I bought a keyboard case that can use the latest iPad mini 6th generation like a 2-in-1 UMPC (ultra-small laptop), so I will review it …
As for the keyboard feel, it’s like a cheap Bluetooth keyboard, but the strokes are reasonable and it’s not bad. It makes a keying sound, but it’s not so noisy.
Since some symbol keys such as parentheses are pressed at the same time as Fn, it will be inconvenient for those who use parentheses a lot like the previous review product. Maybe I had no choice but to take the size of this size for touch typing.
So, for those who often input characters, it may be more convenient than carrying a stand and a Bluetooth keyboard separately.
