Fortunately, the Celtics are there to remind that is the case by signing Danilo Gallinari for two years. The case was expected, it is now official and seals a nice shot signed Brad Stevens.

So, except for those who took their vacation at the beginning of July or who experienced an unprecedented wifi outage, there is no need to point out that this deal is anything but a surprise. Indeed, the most effective spoiler on earth – aka Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN – announced to us at the opening of the Free Agency that Danilo Gallinari was in advanced negotiations with the Celtics. The strong winger was indeed transferred from Atlanta to San Antonio in return for Dejounte Murray. He might not wear the Spurs tunic or even visit the city because the sole purpose of his short trip to Texas was to negotiate the buyout of his contract by the Spurs. Now free of any obligation, he was able to sign with Beantown to expand a workforce already well strengthened since the beginning of July.
After clearing waivers, free agent F Danilo Gallinari has agreed on a two-year, $13.3M deal with the Boston Celtics, his agent Michael Tellem of @excelbasketball tells ESPN. Deal is fully guaranteed and includes a player option.

Are clever, the Celtics. While all the other managements are busy with the Summer League or stuffed on the sofa in front of the Tour de France, they take the opportunity to secure the services of pure players who will help very much in the second unit. Danilo Gallinari, who is it numerically? Well, the gentleman sent a nice 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists on average this season in 66 games played with the Hawks. At 33, the experience is also beginning to be solid. Failed by the Warriors in the NBA Finals when it was necessary to rely on rotations, the C’s have focused their Free Agency in this direction.
