KARACHI: Nabil Qureshi’s much-anticipated film ‘The Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’ starring Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa, will be shown in cinemas across the country over the Eid holiday. A detective film and a musical masala movie with an important message.
The film, which has faced delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, brings Khan and Mustafa together on the silver screen for the first time, and has created a lot of anticipation among movie lovers and moviegoers.
The action-packed movie was simultaneously shown in 14 countries including the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States on Sunday.
“I think it’s an entertaining movie,” Khan said in an interview with Arab News. It is an attractive movie. I have never seen a police movie in Pakistan. I’ve never seen anything like this before.” Contains news.
The movie has “many beginnings” and has characters that people will remember for a long time, Mustafa, a film and television actor and producer best known for hosting the popular game show “Jetho Pakistan”.
“This is the first detective film. Nobody (in Pakistan) has done this before or nobody has done it recently,” the lead representative told Arab News. “We’re just trying to create characters that people can relate to for a very long time.”
Speaking regarding her character, Khan said she represented a “message” regarding harassment of women or human and animal rights.
“She is a woman who does not think regarding social norms and social norms. Khan said she does what she wants to do and has a very strong moral compass. And you think that’s true and that’s wrong.
“She also believes in giving second chances,” Khan added, smiling at Mustafa.
The actor is confident that his fans will love the film.
“It is a movie that really takes people out of their homes and makes them see that cinematic experience,” Mostafa said. “So, I think this is the last hope. I hope they come out and then we can make more movies.
The actors had some interesting anecdotes to share, as Mustafa recalls a tough photo session with Singha on set.
“I had no idea I was afraid of lions,” he said. “The lion was real, there was, and at the end of the day, it’s a lion, so what do you do?
“It was a little scary and fun, but I don’t want to remember that day, you know, it wasn’t a fun shootout.”
Khan remembers the scene in which he carried the puppy on the bike. As the camera approaches, the dog turns his face and begins to kiss the lens.
“We’ve had these little moments,” Khan added with a smile.
“The Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad” is not the only Pakistani movie that will be shown on Eid and will face stiff competition, starring Humayun Saeed and Mahwish Hayat “London Nahi Gonga”.
Mustafa said he thinks both films need one.
“This is not the time to be competitive, but collectively… As a tight-knit team, we have to work together,” the representative said.
Khan added that both films are doing well. “The box office determines how investors, distributors, and filmmakers feel regarding cinema because it is ultimately a business.
“Watch ‘London Nahi Jaunga’,” the two actors said in unison.
At the end of the day, both stars said they were relieved to be back on the big screen.
“This is the real thing; “This is what actors live for,” Mostafa said.
Khan added, “There’s no such thing as a movie, nothing like a cinema… Oh, we’ve always wanted to do that… Cinema has that magic.”
