The vocal group “Le Chant sur la Lowé” hosted a press briefing this Saturday, July 08 in Libreville. It was a question for the persons in charge to announce the concerts of launching of the festivities marking the 30 years of its activities.

Le Chant sur la Lowé has more than thirty good years of life. The group hosted a press briefing to announce the launch concerts of the festivities marking the three decades of its cultural activities.

Le Chant sur la Lowé, the speaker will tell us, was above all born of the shared passion of two sisters for Gabonese music and traditions. It is Sophie and Yveline Damasdaughters of a senior Gabonese state official, author and composer of the national anthem “Concord“.

The vocal group on the Lowé is made up of regarding fifty choristers and supervisors, all volunteers who are passionate regarding music. There are all socio-professional categories such as students, pupils, retirees, doctors, teachers, the unemployed…

The vocation of the choir is to participate in the development of the Gabonese musical heritage through the interpretations of Gabonese songs in all languages.

The primary objective of the choir remains there valorization of the Gabonese cultural heritage. The song on the Lowé adapts its strategies by taking into account on the one hand its environment, but also all of its targets (men and women of all ages…). On the international level, the group is a member of the federation A coeur joie international, a member of the CAM (African Confederation of Choral Music, and of the IFCM).
