#Mali : Yesterday, Saturday, July 9, Malians celebrated Tabaski Day and prayed for the return of peace in the center and north of the country.
Mali, like most Muslim countries, celebrated on Saturday July 09, 2022, the Tabaski festival or sheep festival. There were many faithful to take part in this religious ceremony.
As for the President of the transition and the members of the government, they prayed in Koulouba which houses the presidential palace. We remember, the President of the transition, Colonel Assimi Goïta escaped in 2021 at the great mosque of Bamako from a stabbing attempt.
This year’s tabaski celebration comes just following the lifting of economic and financial sanctions once morest Mali. A decision hailed unanimously by the populations.
The Tabaski festival was an opportunity for Muslim faithful to renew their prayers for peace, stability and harmony in Mali. In his sermon, the imam of the great mosque of Koulikoro, Amadou Kallé explained the meaning of the tabaski festival and why a sheep is sacrificed. The Muslim faithful also prayed for a successful outcome of the transition and the organization of free and transparent elections in Mali.
