The pandemic has demanded a lot of patience from all music clubs – but now the big 53rd Bregenzerwald district music festival can take place in Lingenau. “Zämmko” was the motto this weekend for 50 music clubs from the Bregenzerwald and the surrounding area, and the big parade took place on Sunday.

The 53rd Bregenzerwald District Music Festival was finally able to take place in Lingenau – because it had been organized before the coronavirus pandemic. “We are very happy,” says festival organizer Engelbert Beck from the Lingenau Music Association: “We planned two years and waited four years because we had to postpone it twice. And now we are glad that it might finally take place.” Numerous guests attended the three-day music festival this weekend.

“It’s a great feeling”

The highlight of the festivities was the traditional parade on Sunday followingnoon. 50 music clubs from the Bregenzerwald and the surrounding area enthusiastically participated: “Now there’s joy,” describes Peter Moosmann from the Bildstein music club: “And the heart begins to bloom.” And Benjamin Bereuter from the Alberschwende music club says: “It’s a tremendous one I feel like it’s super nice to be marching together once more as a group with all the musicians.”

Festivals like this have been missing for a long time

How much the district music festivals were missed not only by the musicians can also be heard from the visitors who line the streets long before the start of the parade. They are also full of praise for the organization of the festival in Lingenau: “You’re doing really well,” many people say.
