Today, Sunday, a scrap dealer was killed and 8 others were injured with a birdshot, in a quarrel over the purchase of sacrificial bones, in Batma, north of Sohag Governorate.

The warden of the Tama police station received a signal from the emergency operations room that a quarrel occurred, shots were fired, and there were dead and injured persons in the center’s circle.

It turned out that the quarrel was between the first party, “Suleiman. S.,” 25 years old, a scrap dealer, and he died following arriving at the hospital following being shot with separate bullets in the body. “Hashem. A.,” 23, a scrap dealer, “Hossam. A.,” 30, a scrap dealer, “Mustafa.” H.” 24 years old, scrap dealer, “Hamada. M.” 53 years old, scrap dealer, “Maher. M.” 55 years old, scrap dealer, “Sharbat. A.,” 25 years old, a housewife, “Nuhad. A.,” 30 years old, a housewife, injured by spraying. Cartridges in different parts of the body.

And a second party, “Jalal A.,” 55 years old, a scrap dealer with a severe cut in the upper lip, “Hassan. C.” 30 years old, a scrap dealer, and “Ahmed. C.” 16 years old, “Anjal Al-Awal” scrap seller.

The body and the injured were transferred to Al-Ghanayem Central Hospital in Assiut Governorate, except for the latter from the first party who was transferred to Tama Central Hospital.

The two parties to the melee were seized, with the first from the second party in possession of a cartridge rifle, and the second and third from the second party in possession of 2 locally-made cartridges, and by asking them, they exchanged accusations between them of encroaching each other, and the first party accused the second party of firing shots of cartridge weapons that they had in their possession. He reported the injuries referred to, due to disputes over the purchase of sacrificial bones.

Edited a record of the incident, and the Public Prosecution took over investigations.
