The Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques did not mention any additional details regarding the dereliction of duties or the reason for the direct exemption of the Director of Endeavor Affairs and the Seekers and his assistant.
The General Authority for Statistics in Saudi Arabia announced that the number of pilgrims this year exceeded 899,000.
The authority revealed that 87 percent of the pilgrims came from outside Saudi Arabia, with approximately 780,000 pilgrims, while the number of domestic pilgrims reached more than 119,000.
The authority indicated in a statement that 54 percent of the pilgrims were males, and the number exceeded 486,000, and regarding 413,000 pilgrims were women.
