Separatist officials loyal to Moscow announced that their forces, backed by Russian forces, were able to control new areas in the Donbass region, eastern Ukraine.

The Russian Interfax news agency quoted “Luhansk Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik”, as saying that Luhansk forces, backed by the Russian army, are continuing the “operation to liberate Seversk,” noting that these forces managed to control the “Grigorovka” region.

On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the downing of two Ukrainian Su-25 fighters and 15 drones and the destruction of a number of weapons depots, in different parts of the Donbas region, on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Russian aviation, missile and artillery forces targeted “22 positions of the operational command in Ukraine, including the 98th battalion of the Ukrainian Defense Brigade in Novovorontsovka, Dnepropetrovsk region.”
