Disable Windows Defender Security Center taskbar icon
If you don’t like looking at the icon for some reason, you can simply drag and drop it into the hidden icon bin.
But if you want to disable the startup and display icon in the taskbar, you will need to disable it from startups.
- To do this, right-click on the taskbar and click Task Manager. Now click on the Startup tab.
- Look for the Windows Defender notification entry. Right-click on it and select Disable.
- Restart your computer and you won’t see the icon.
To hide the Windows Defender or Windows Security icon from the taskbar, you need to open the Taskbar adjustment panel. To do this, press Win + I and go to Personalization > Taskbar. Then expand the Taskbar corner overflow section and switch the Windows Security button to turn it off.
To disable security icon in Windows 11/10, you can refer to the above-mentioned guide. There are mainly two ways to do the job. First, you can use the taskbar settings panel. Second, you can disable the Windows Security application using the taskbar.
You can also use any third-party Startup Manager software to disable this icon or manage your startup programs.
