Nothing reveals some shots taken with the phone (1) a few days before its release, enough to get an idea of its quality.
In a few days, the most exciting phone of recent years will be presented. First, there is nothing revolutionary regarding it. Its screen doesn’t bend, it doesn’t have amazing technology, and even its spec sheet places it just mid-range. Yet the Nothing phone (1) has that little something extra that makes you want to. First of all, a neat and original design, but also a philosophy that above all aims for a user experience more than an overstatement of numbers.
Finally some information regarding the camera
We already know son design, his “extra thing”a part of its technical sheetor his price, but an unknown remained regarding the Nothing phone (1): the quality of its camera. However, this is a very important criterion in the process of buying a smartphone for a large number of people.
On July 8, Nothing lifted the veil on the phone’s camera (1), revealing certain technical characteristics. We thus learn that the main sensor is a Sony IMX766 of 50 Mpx of 1/1.56″ coupled with a lens opening at f/1.88. It also has dual stabilization, both optical (OIS) and electronic (EIS). And as on all smartphones now, a dose of artificial intelligence tops it off with scene detection and a night mode.
Photo examples
As words are not enough and an image says much more, Nothing published 8 photos taken with the phone (1). We discover snapshots of London by day, at dusk or even in the underground.
At first glance, we can note the excellent sharpness of the image on the truffle of the cat or the bewildered face of the dog, but also an effective HDR mode, a certain ability to freeze moving targets in broad daylight and good management light and colorimetry. On darker scenes, one can nevertheless wonder if the strong dynamics will be correctly managed to see the luminaire on the subway platform. Anyway, for a phone expected at less than 500 euros, the phone (1) seems very satisfactory.
The official presentation of the Nothing phone (1) will take place on July 12. Only a few more days to wait.
