It’s time to take another trip to Middle-earth, this time with Gollum, who suffers from a split personality.

The new trailer for the upcoming game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has given us a closer look at the gameplay. The video showed us the hero climbing the walls, hiding in the bushes and fighting off the orcs with stones.

We can also get up close and personal with some of the other characters from Middle-earth. These include Gandalf and the elf king Thranduil, who, apparently, will help the protagonist. In addition to them, the Nazgul and the disgusting spider Shelob are seen in the trailer, which will give Gollum a lot of problems.

“Gollum is perhaps the most maligned and misunderstood creature in all of Middle-earth, cursed with a split personality and a constant desire to find his charm,” – explains the developer Daedalic.

Whether crawling in tall grass or swimming in rivers, Gollum must adapt and move in the shadows if he is to escape his enemies during his adventure. From the mountains of Mordor to the Mines of Moria, through Mirkwood and caves, players will explore a variety of environments and are sure to feel a touch of nostalgia for Tolkien’s masterpiece.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will release on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on September 1st. The game will also be released later on the Nintendo Switch.
