After a very nice opening day and two nice encounters, here we are already on the second day of this Las Vegas Summer League with a very busy schedule. Seven matches on the schedule from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., with some great matchups that might help keep you up all night.
Tonight’s program:
- 22h : Bulls – Mavericks
- 23h : Cavs – Spurs
- 0h : Pacers – Hornets
- 1h : Bucks – Nets
- 2h : Knicks – Warriors
- 3h : Wolves – Nuggets
- 4h : Lakers – Suns
We start the evening at the Thomas & Mack Center with a duel that does not seem super hyped at first sight but which might well surprise us, un fight between the two rookie leaders of Chicago and Dallas, with Dalen Terry (18th choice) once morest Jaden Hardy (37th choice). The new Mavs player is known for his offensive qualities and might be one of the steals of this Draft, but the former Arizona and new Bull is known for his very good defense on the outside positions. A duel that therefore smells of powder from the start of the day in Nevada. For the other big individual duels of the day, there will be a duel of scorers during the meeting Milwaukee-Brooklyn with MarJon Beauchamp (24th pick) and Frenchie Hugo Besson (58th pick) once morest 2021 Summer League co-MVP Cam Thomas. Finally, for the penultimate game of the night, a winger fight this time with Minnesota rookie and former Duke captain Wendell Moore Jr. (19th pick) versus Kansas national champion and new Nuggets rookie Christian Braun (21st pick). This match will also see internationals face off, with the Italian Matteo Spagnolo and the Frenchman Ismaël Kamagate, defender of the year in Betclic Elite.
This second day will also be the opportunity to see a lot of boys from the Draft 2022 vintage in action, like the 14th choice of the Cavs, Ochai Agbaji once morest the new young core of the Spurs with Malaki Branham (20th) and Blake Wesley (25th). Affected by the COVID, Jeremy Sochan (9th choice) will not be there. Bennedict Mathurin (6th pick) will play his first game in the colors of the Pacers tonight like Andrew Nembhard (31st pick) once morest the new pivot of the Hornets, Mark Williams (15th) and also Bryce McGowens (40th) who might also be the one of the surprises of this 2022 Draft. Finally, a fight of small picks with Trevor Keels (42nd choice), the Knicks’ only rookie, once morest the Warriors vintage made up of Patrick Baldwin Jr. (28th), Ryan Rollins (44th) and Gui Santos (55th). The second episode of this Summer League, like its entirety, is also one of the moments where we can see some family ties. Isaiah Mobley (49th choice), brother of Evan, will play with the Cavs, like LiAngelo Ball in Charlotte. Not to be forgotten of course, Scotty Pippen Jr. and Shareef O’Neal, son of the two NBA legends, who will play the last game of the evening with the Lakers once morest the Suns of Frenchman Olivier Sarr and Belgian Vrenz Bleijenbergh.
Seven games to stay up until dawn for the bravest NBA fans. While waiting for the start of the next season, this Summer League is still well worth the detour and the players present are still very talented. For those who don’t want to wait until October to see American basketball once more, see you tonight from 10 p.m.
