The scenery of Sai Kung has always been the same as that of foreign countries. Among them, the authoritative travel guide “LonelyPlanet” has even recommended their Sai Kung countryside route. Saigon sea in summer is blue and clear, and around some pristine islands is definitely a multiverse of the ocean world, which breeds a variety of fish and shellfish species, as well as colorful coral reefs. On the days when you can’t travel far, you might as well go to the uninhabited Huangmaozhou Island, rediscover the beauty of Hong Kong, and create a summer sunshine trip for yourself!

Climb up to the White Lighthouse 118 and see the “Sai Kung Three Points” Anaconda Point
The inaccessible Huang Mao Chau is a small island in the sea off Sai Kung Mi Noodle Tsui. As there is no public transportation to reach Wong Mao Chau, tourists can take bus 94 from downtown Sai Kung or bus No. 289R from downtown Shatin to Wong Shek Pier, and then take a taxi (reservation required) to Wong Mao Chau Pier. The journey takes time. About 15 minutes. Looking at the island from the center of the sea, the “118” white lighthouse on the green hill and only 19 meters from the highest point is the highest and most iconic check-in point in Huangmaozhou! Looking at the opposite bank from the elevation column is the Anaconda Point, one of the famous “Three Points of Sai Kung”. Under the Anaconda Point, there is the “Qianxi Coast”. On a sunny day, the view can be as far as Gong Chau and Chi Chau.
The water is as transparent as glass, as beautiful as Okinawa
There is a small beach on Huangmaozhou Island for tourists to rest. When the water rises, the beach may be nearly half submerged. The water quality of the nearby waters is quite good. Even novice snorkelers can easily see underwater creatures such as conch, sea urchin and colorful fish. Definitely a snorkeler’s paradise! The shallow water area between the reefs is very large, and the water is so clear that you can look to the end. Because of the clear and bright water, the water ripples and the refraction of sunlight make it as transparent as glass, and it feels as beautiful as Okinawa! What is rare is that the fish here are not afraid of people. When snorkeling, the fish are swimming around, which is really a pleasure!
Check-in at Xanadu “Guifei Pond”
The back beach of Huangmaozhou is another good place for snorkeling. The original rocky road conditions are a bit like walking in the volcanic area of Hawaii. There are several natural “guifei ponds” and ditches that are very suitable for punching cards. When the sun is shining and the water is clear, it is like a paradise! When walking between the reefs, just remember to be careful of slippery rocks, or you need to use both hands and feet. Wearing suitable non-slip shoes when snorkeling can prevent the rocks and sea thorns of Fengli from being cut. It is not recommended for children or the elderly. .
Summer travel tips in Saigon
In summer, Huangmaozhou is very hot, and almost the entire island is open to the open air. It is recommended that everyone use the beach canopy to avoid heat stroke due to direct sunlight. Bring beach mats and sunscreens. There are no stores, supply points or fresh water on the island. For the water source, it is best for everyone to prepare enough food, and bring plenty of frozen fruits and iced drinks, so that you can enjoy sunbathing in the hot summer!
Note: The island is not a government public beach, there is no water source or changing rooms and lifeguards are on duty. When snorkeling and playing in the water, please assess the risks and do what you need, and pay attention to safety. Huangmaozhou is far from the urban area, and most mobile phones have poor network signal reception, and there is a chance to roam to the mainland network.
