Why buy a “simplified” Lada Granta if there are 5 “indestructible” cars at the same price

Company AvtoVAZ became the first domestic manufacturer to establish the assembly of “simplified” cars. Since June, they began to sell in Russia Lada Grant, devoid of ABS, airbags and other devices that until recently were mandatory for installation on all cars supplied to our country. Prices for a “simplified” sedan start at 678,300 rubles. Granta in this version is equipped with a 90-horsepower engine with manual transmission. That is, having removed important equipment, AvtoVAZ practically did not change the price of the car. At the same time, there are many more interesting offers on the secondary market of Russia. For the same amount that Granta is priced at, you can buy at least five models that are not only more comfortable than Lada, but also last longer.

Renault Megane

The third generation Megane is one of the best replacements for the simplified Grants. At the price of the Russian model, you can buy a French one, which has traveled no more than 100 thousand kilometers. Taking into account the fact that Megane equipped with an “indestructible” 1.6-liter “aspirated” and a manual transmission, such a mileage can be called small. Moreover, the hatchback has a solid suspension, which rarely requires repairs, even if you regularly go off-road. At the same time, Megane offers better equipment and high comfort compared to Grant. In addition, the French model is safer than the Russian one.

Hyundai Elantra

The fifth generation Elantra is equipped with a 150-horsepower engine, while the pre-reform version of the sedan is equipped with a 122-horsepower engine. Both power units are adapted to Russian conditions and, according to operating experience, last longer than the Granta motor. Also Elantra boasts high-quality and more technologically advanced equipment than the Russian model. In addition, the owners note a reliable chassis. Although some elements of the steering mechanism can break down before the first 100 thousand kilometers.

Mazda 3

Mazda 3 of the second generation in Russia today is sold cheaper than the “simplified” Lada Granta. At the same time, the Japanese model surpasses all models produced by AvtoVAZ in terms of workmanship. One of the expressed advantages Mazda 3 105-strong “aspirated” is considered. At the same time, some copies of the hatchback are also equipped with a 2-liter naturally aspirated engine that develops up to 150 hp. and providing excellent acceleration dynamics for such a car. In terms of comfort and safety, compare Grant and Mazda 3 is impossible: the Japanese model is several times superior to the Russian one in both parameters.

Mitsubishi Lancer

The tenth generation Lancer offers 117- and 143-horsepower naturally aspirated engines that have proven their reliability in operation in Russia. The Japanese model stands out from the competition with an accentuated sporty look, although the dynamics of this sedan do not match the appearance. Plus to this – Lancer too low ground clearance. However, the Japanese sedan in terms of reliability (especially the endurance of the chassis, on which traces of rust appear less often) is a multiple of the Lada Grant.

Skoda Octavia

Octavia of the second generation and following restyling is considered one of the most popular cars in Russia. The demand for the Czech model is provided by a combination of affordable price and excellent build quality. Along with this, buyers receive a spacious interior and a spacious trunk, reliable on-board electronics and high-quality paintwork, which highlights the advantage Octavia once morest the backdrop of competitors. At the same time, the robotic gearbox of the Czech model of the second generation is considered unreliable. Author: Fedor Averiev
