Cost of living: a fuel allowance for workers ranging from 100 to 300 euros from October 1

Shipping to Guyana will become more and more expensive. Despite the implementation of government aid of 18 centimes since April, fuel prices are skyrocketing in Guyana. The announcement of a fuel allowance for the most modest employees is therefore good news.

The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Lemaire, made the announcement on July 7, a fuel allowance for workers will be implemented from 1is october.
The cost of this fuel voucher system is estimated at 2 billion euros over the yearit will be available from 1is october. It is intended to gradually replace the discount of 18 cents at the pump which will end definitively on December 31

In Guyana, a liter of unleaded currently costs 2.10 euros and that of road diesel is 2.07 euros. Prices that are expected to increase further.

This fuel allowance is only provided for active people, therefore for workers who own a vehicle. They will be eligible provided that their income is below a certain ceiling, it concerns employees, apprentices, public or self-employed officials.
This bonus can range from 100 to 200 euros (tax income between 9,000 and 14,000 euros) and go up to 300 euros for heavy riders who travel more than 12,000 km/year and live more than 30 km from their work.

Close to 12 million people should be affected by this cost of living measure.
