The Radiology and Radiodiagnostic Journals strengthen their impact factor

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) announced on June 29, 2022 that Radiology, the Society’s flagship journal, significantly increased its impact factor in 2021, according to the new 2022 Citation Reports Update from Clarivate Analytics. Log. Radiographics has also grown its influence for the teaching of the specialty.

The Journal Radiology now has an impact factor of 29,146 in 2021, up from 11,105 in 2020, was cited 76,068 times in 2021, and ranks first in impact factor among journals in the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and medical imaging. For the past two years, the journal has been a leader in publishing research, statements, and commentary on COVID-19 focused on medical imaging.

“The high impact factor for Radiology is representative of the fundamental importance of imaging in our hospitals and clinics,” reports Prof. David A. Bluemke, editor of the RSNA Journal. The success of our review depends on the exceptional research efforts of our authors, made even more difficult during the pandemic. »

Radiology, the reference journal for medical imaging

Published regularly since 1923, Radiology has long been recognized as the authoritative reference for the latest, most clinically relevant, and highest quality research in the field of radiology. Each month, the journal publishes approximately 300 pages of original peer-reviewed research, authoritative reviews, commentary on important articles, and expert opinions on new techniques and technologies.

“The notable increase in the impact factor of Radiology reflects the central role of medical imaging in patient care,” continues Dr. Linda Moy, associate editor of the journal. The exceptional research and educational content developed by our authors, along with the dedication of our excellent reviewers and editorial board, contribute to the success of Radiology. »

Radiographics, one of the main sources for teaching the specialty

RadioGraphics, RSNA’s premier educational journal, also saw its impact factor increase from 5,333 in 2020 to 6,312 in 2021 with 17,881 citations. “RadioGraphics aims to publish the best peer-reviewed educational material for imaging professionals,” said Dr. Christine “Cooky” Menias, editor-in-chief of RadioGraphics. Thank you to the excellent authors, reviewers and editorial board members for expanding the scope of RadioGraphics, which reflects the influence of diagnostic imaging in academic research and clinical practice. »

Launched in 1981, RadioGraphics is one of the leading educational journals in diagnostic radiology. Each bimonthly issue includes 15-20 practice-oriented articles covering the full spectrum of radiological subspecialties and covering topics such as diagnostic imaging techniques, imaging characteristics of a disease or group of diseases, radiological-pathological correlation, practice policy and quality initiatives, imaging physics, informatics and lifelong learning.
