Because of the situation in Ukraine, the price of pellets continues to climb: “You have to order now to prepare for winter!”

For several weeks, the price of pellets has continued to climb. In one year, it has completely doubled in price and it now takes almost 500 euros for a pallet, the bag (15 kg) exceeds 7 euros and we are heading towards 10 euros for the winter.

Cédric has been installing heaters for fifteen years and he has never experienced such a high price for a bag of pellets during the summer. “Usually we are around 3.85€, here we are 7.40€ which is already very expensive so yes I am worried“.

The geopolitical situation in question

In the past, there was a winter price (high) and a summer price (low) due to the demand which decreased during this period. But for the first time, the sector must face constant increases even in July and August. At issue: supply, which is highly dependent on the geopolitical situation. Ukraine, Russia and Belarus accounted for 26% of EU pellet imports in 2021.

You have to order now”, Cedric insists. “For the moment, there are still some. But when we see the schedule with us, for example, we already have deliveries planned until the end of August..”

In view of the skyrocketing price of energy, Cédric installs two to three pellet stoves every day at customers’ premises, as much as in winter. It is therefore strongly advised to prepare for winter, and to already place your orders.

Last April, we were already talking regarding the “rush” towards pellets:
