Building on the success of the #AnafDary competition, carried out in 2020 in support of the Moroccan artistic community then in full sanitary confinement, the Attijariwafa bank Foundation returns this year with an innovative concept: #ImagineTaVille, a national multidisciplinary visual arts competition. This competition is launched on the Foundation’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FondationAttijariwafabank/videos/511886284046531/from July 01 to September 15, 2022.
This “outdoor”-oriented competition invites participants to imagine their city of tomorrow. The latter will be able to propose, in the form of artistic creation, their own projection of a city, imagined or real, contribute to reinventing the public space, nourishing themselves with its architectural heritage, by favoring 3 techniques, namely photography, visual arts and street art.
The Attijariwafa bank Foundation has set itself the guiding line of highlighting the vitality and richness of the Moroccan and African artistic scene in general, by particularly encouraging the most prominent contemporary artistic practices among young people: street art/urban art ( graffiti, digital graffiti…), digital arts (digital painting, electronic drawing, light painting, video art, 2D/3D animation, fiction, virtual reality, performance…) and contemporary photography (Street photography in particular). In a transversal vision, the mix between these practices will also be encouraged.
#ImagineTaVille is aimed at all visual arts enthusiasts, young professional artists, students, as well as employees of the Attijariwafa bank group.
6 winners will be rewarded and will also benefit from support for the production of their creations and an exhibition at the Actua art space of the Attijariwafa bank Foundation in Casablanca.
Candidates will be evaluated by a jury of experts in the fields of visual arts, heritage and cultural policies, composed of Hayat ZIRARI, anthropologist, teacher-researcher at Hassan II University, Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Casablanca, by Abderrahim KASSOU, architect, urban planner and former President of the Casamémoire association and by Abdelmajid SEDDATI, teacher of video art and cinema at the Faculties of Letters of Ben M’sik and Aïn Chok and artistic director of the International Festival of Casablanca Video Art.
