Born in Russia in the Wimbledon final
Russia and Belarus have been excluded from the Wimbledon tournament. Nevertheless, a Russian grabs the prestigious victory plate in the final on Saturday.

The Wimbledon organizers took tough action: the 2022 tournament is taboo for Russians and Belarusians because of the war of aggression in Ukraine. The exclusion caused red heads. Much has been discussed. Points for the WTA and ATP rankings are not awarded.
Now a native Russian made it into the prestigious final. How come? Very simple: Jelena Rybakina (23, WTA 23), born in Moscow in June 1999, has competed under the Kazakh flag since 2018 and no longer for her home country.
Rybakina literally flies through the tournament
At Wimbledon she plays herself into a frenzy. The victim on Thursday is Simona Halep (30, WTA 18), the 2019 Wimbledon winner from Romania – 6: 3, 6: 3 in 76 minutes. Rybakina has only dropped a set in the quarterfinals, now she is reaching for the coveted victory plate in her first major final on the holy lawn. Do the organizers like it?
Jabeur with milestone
Ons Jabeur (27, WTA 2), her opponent next Saturday, does the same. The Tunisian has become the first player from the Arab world to reach a major final.
Jabeur defeated the mother of two Tatjana Maria (34, WTA 103), her good friend from Germany, 6: 2, 3: 6, 6: 1. The hug following the game is over is correspondingly warm. (yup)
