The lawyer of the student, Naira Ashraf, who was killed by her colleague in front of the door of Mansoura University, criticized the talk regarding new lawyers joining the legal team of the student’s family.
Recently, news circulated regarding the volunteer lawyers, Mortada Mansour and Bahaa El-Din Abu Shaqqa, to join the legal team of the family of student Naira Ashraf.
The lawyer said that what is happening may fall under the item of bidding, because everyone knows that the legal team of the victim has no role in the first session of the Court of Cassation, and the only role begins following that if the cassation submitted by the accused’s defense is accepted.
And the lawyer continued: “Oh, I wish there was no bidding, trading and riding on the body of the deceased girl, because everyone knows and understands the procedures and that there is no role for us before accepting the cassation in the event that it is accepted, unless he wants to go with Farid, this is another need and he is kind.” This is in reference to the lawyer. Farid El-Deeb and took over the defense of the accused.
The lawyer said that if the Court of Cassation accepts the cassation submitted by the defendant’s defense, it will return the case to its trial headquarters in Mansoura, unlike the previous 5 years when the Court of Cassation was addressing the case.
For his part, the father of the student, Naira Ashraf Abdel Qader, resolved the controversy over what was recently raised regarding the joining of a number of lawyers to his daughter’s legal team at the trial.
Naira Ashraf’s father confirmed to “Masrawy” that he will not make a special power of attorney for any of the famous lawyers in Cairo or at the level of Egypt, and that he will only be satisfied with the lawyers who have been appointed through him since the beginning of the incident and the death of his daughter until the death sentence was issued.
This came in a statement to Naira Ashraf’s father before the funeral, which the family decided to hold today in one of the events in the city of Al-Mahalla Al-Kubra in the Gharbia Governorate at 8:30 in the evening.
Naira Ashraf’s father indicated that he thanks the famous lawyers who announced their support for the family in the cassation stage, despite the fact that none of them communicated, even by phone, and that if they support this, they should coordinate with the family’s lawyers in writing any memorandum, and he continued: “Shameful.” I’m giving up the lawyers I’ve hired since my daughter’s death
I will not appear in the media once more and devote myself to praying for my daughter, and I thank God for the death sentence and God is our agent.”
