The great return of rorquals in Antarctica

In the planet’s eroded biodiversity landscape, there is sometimes good news. Like the one published Thursday in the journal Scientific Reports by a team of German researchers: fin whales, a species of whale whose populations have been decimated by intensive hunting for decades, are once more present in large gatherings at their ancestral feeding grounds around the northern coasts of Antarctica .
