The first edition of the Donneville designer market was held on the weekend of June 25 and 26. Local craftsmen and artists presented their creations there: jewellery, driftwood decorative objects, handmade hats, watercolours, etc. You might even taste homemade ice cream from the farm.
Beyond the promotion of artisanal and local creation, this market also aims to raise funds to finance the dreams of very seriously ill children. Part of the profits will be donated to the Rêves association (represented by Bénédicte De Viguerie) to carry out those of 3 seriously ill children. An online kitty, still in progress, has been set up to make the dreams of these 3 children come true: www.helloasso.com/associations/reves/collectes/artcoreves.
Animations (pony, make-up, etc.) were also used to raise funds. The sumo wrestling was particularly appreciated.
The idea for this market came from Corine Fazilleau. A sculptor under the name of ArtCor, she is very involved with the Rêves association. She regularly sponsors children there. During an exhibition at the Donneville media library, she fell in love with the Espace Cabanac park with its dovecote. It took him little time to convince Bernard Crouzil (Mayor of Donneville) to set up this market there. The FaitMain31 association, thanks in particular to its treasurer Chantal Fort, very quickly joined the project. This association already organizes various designer markets in Toulouse and its surroundings. The only downside for this weekend, the capricious weather did not allow exhibitors to set up in the park. The market therefore took place inside the village hall next door.
