Barcelona club president Joan Laporta has warned that first-team player Frenkie de Jong is not for sale, despite information recently circulating regarding the possible transfer of the Dutch midfielder to Manchester United.
While Ivorian Frank Kessie presented a new player in the ranks of Barca, Laporta said that De Jong is a Barcelona player, and stressed, “If at a certain moment we need to sell him, we will look into the matter, but it is not the case now.”
On the other hand, the Catalan club president confirmed that “there is no deadline for Ousmane Dembele to announce an answer” to the offer made by Barcelona.
And he added that the Frenchman “is no longer a Barcelona player, his contract expired on June 30, but there is a sporting interest in his continuation. We made him an offer and his representative responded with another proposal, and in order for Dembele to continue, he must accept our offer.”
