The Department of Finance announced a first « imminent disbursement » of several million dollars from the International Monetary Fund in favor of the Republic of Congo. Funds allocated to our country under the three-year agreement on the Extended Credit Facility (ECF).
The Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded with satisfaction on June 24 the first review of the 36-month agreement entered into by Brazzaville under the Extended Credit Facility (Efc). Thus, an envelope of 64.80 million SDRs (87 million US dollars), i.e. 54 billion FCFA will be paid in such a way « immediate » to the Congolese public treasury, indicates the IMF. For the head of finance, this budget support aims to support the efforts undertaken by the government of the Republic in favor of macroeconomic stability, the consolidation of economic recovery and the fight once morest poverty in our country. “The Ministry of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio recalls that the program supported by the Extended Credit Facility aims to reduce macroeconomic and social fragilities, in order to place the Republic of Congo on the path to stronger, more inclusive and more resilient », underlines the communication from the Ministry of Finance, a copy of which arrived at the newspaper de Brazza.com.
